Hosting SRI 2027

Application to host the SRI 2027

The International Conference on Synchrotron Radiation Instrumentation (SRI) is a successful triennial conference series organised by the community of worldwide synchrotron radiation (SR) and X-ray free-electron laser (XFEL) facilities for more than 40 years. DESY and European XFEL host the SRI 2024, which will take place in Hamburg (Germany) from 26-30 August 2024.

The next conference is planned for 2027. Light source facilities interested in hosting the SRI 2027 conference should send a Letter of Intent to the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) Chairs of the SRI 2024 (via mail: office@sri2024.eu) until 15 May 2024, stating their interests to develop a proposal to organise the SRI conference in 2027.

This more detailed proposal should be submitted to the LOC Chairs before 1 August 2024 (via mail). The facility representative (typically the facility director or his/her designee) of each proposal is requested to give a 10-15 minute presentation of their proposal at the upcoming SRI International Advisory Committee (IAC) meeting, held during the SRI 2024 conference (tentatively on Tuesday, 27 August, 2024) . The IAC will select the host(s) of the next SRI conference.

The winning proposal will be announced at the closing session of the SRI 2024. The future host(s) can then give a 10-minute presentation about the next SRI conference to which they would like to welcome the community.
