FELs of Europe Award on “Development or innovative use of advanced instrumentation in the field of FELs”

FELs of Europe is a collaboration of all free electron laser (FEL) facilities in Europe, with the goal to meet the technological and scientific challenges of these novel and rapidly developing technologies and to provide a worldwide unique, pan-European research infrastructure that enables exploiting the full scientific potential of these unique accelerator based short-pulse light sources.

The Organizing Committee of the conference is presently soliciting nominations for the FELs of Europe Award in “Development or innovative use of advanced instrumentation in the field of FELs” for young researchers.

Details of the application procedure and information required are given below.

Nominations are to be received online by 15 June 2024 at the latest.

The prize is awarded in recognition of recent work for innovation and scientific excellence in the area of free electron laser science and applications in its broadest sense by young scientists (an individual or a team) below 35 years at the ceremony date. The work for which the nomination is submitted must be such that a significant component of it was performed during the period 3 years prior to the award. The award is accompanied by a certificate, and a monetary sum of 1000 euros.

The Prize Ceremony and Winner(s) Lecture will be highlights of the SRI2024 Conference.
• Nominations must include:
o Cover letter provided by the nominator with proposed citation
o Nominee(s) CV(s)
o List(s) of publications covering the last five years
o Preprints of submitted publications if appropriate
o Up to two letters of endorsement of the nomination
