DESY - Visit
On Monday, 26 August 2024 you will have the opportunity to visit PETRA III and FLASH beamlines, laboratories, machines (tunnel) and the five experimental halls at DESY.
From from 15:00 to 18:30h you can directly go to the beamlines or laboratories etc. your are interested in (like at an ‘Open day’). Scientists or engineers will be available at each station to show the corresponding instrumentation and answer your questions. There will be no guided tours except in in the PETRA III and FLASH tunnel, tours will start in front of the entrances depending on the demand.

Afterwards, the SRI 2024 BBQ reception will take place at 18:30 in front of and inside the CFEL building.

Venue on the DESY campus
The SRI 2024 registration and the bus stop of shuttles to European XFEL (and back) are in or in front of the CFEL building (Bldg. 99, opposite the PETRA III experimental hall 'Max von Laue'). Taking photos and being photographed
Photography for non-commercial purposes is allowed. Please do not take pictures of staff members unless they explicitly agree. We will take pictures during the visits. If you don't agree with being photographed please let us know at the beginning of the visit.
Accessibility
Accessibility lifts are available and barrier-free movement is possible in most but not all areas. Please do not hesitate to contact us in advance if you need any additional assistance or have any questions concerning accessibility.

There is no special bus service, please use public transport. The time schedule of the HVV (Hamburger Verkehrsverbund) is available online (e.g. from: 'Dammtor (Messe/CCH)' to 'Luruper Chausee/DESY' ).
